  • Noone i:

Hello fellow bass fisherman! My questions would be, in this order:

    1) what is the boat made of, aluminum, fiberglass or ?
    2) the boat itself may have legal motor restrictions, they are usually stamped on a plate and mounted on or near the transom
    3) will you be competing in fishing tournaments or just fishing for recreation?

I will reply after you offer the info…it will help.

  • chris dunn:

no i had a 15ft boat at one time with a 50 hp it ran about 35mph and max for it was a 70 hp with the 65hp it will proably run about 40to 45mph. if you wanted too get a new motor a 50 to 70 would be alright you might even look at a 4 stroke for gas reason better milage.

  • poo poo kitty:

Chris is probably about right. Watch out for the four strokes. They are much heavier than the two.

  • JUSTFISH:

check the rating for that boat to see what horsepower maximum it is rated for before you put a motor on it, to overpower it would be a huge safety hazard
