Good old Rice Lake. Man I havent been there since I was 7… the memories. I remember a guy taking me out in his big boat “never been in a big boat at that time” and the engines kept getting caught up in weeds “very weedy lake still eh?” fishin still good there? I live up in northern ontario now, if you like pike fishin, should try it up here!
The early 70′s Evinrude engines are dear to my heart. Learned to drive a boat, fix a boat, water ski behind a boat my aunt still has. A 1973 Renkin open bow with a 1973 Evinrude 115. That was the fastest boat on our chain for many years. Obviously a lot of boats faster now but none of them have that awesome pre-muffled regulation sounds like the old outboards.
One of the few videos I’ve seen that really depicts what boats sound like at a distance. The sound of this boat taking off sounds just like the distant sound of boats on a calm day in the Laguna Madre.
I love the sound of those older OMC’s screaming at full throttle!!!
