Bass Boat Crash

We were out filming Greg in his boat when he hit the wave behind the boat at the wrong angle and too fast. Boat speed was around 70 mph. Greg’s Life Vest and kill switch SAVED HIS LIFE. He was unconscious for about 10 minutes. As you can see the boat never turned over. Greg suffered a broken collarbone. I’m showing this in hopes that a lot of you Bass Boat Drivers have gotten lazy about putting your Vest on and hooking up your kill switch. All of you have hit a suprise wave from out of nowhere at speeds of 70 mph or more. Don’t let this happen to you.

I took clips of us playing on the river and put them all together. NO MUSIC JUST MOTOR SOUNDS.

@yadadee77 Ha you can wake up now!!!
It doesnt matter how theyre built put them in a two foot chop on the water and i could pass them with my trolling motor!!!
@dv6000hp there are a bunch of pdf files floating around the web from old articles of Bass&Walleye boats magazine… nothing but the highest compliments paid to bullet boats and their top notch construction. type “bullet boat review 3″ into google…its the first result you’ll see… read the article. Bullets are a no compromise fishing boat, and are made tougher stronger and longer lasting than 95% of the other boats on the market.
All I can tell you is what I know about my 2001 Bullet 20XD A Solid Fishing and Performance Bass Boat. Has fished from Santee Cooper SC to Toledo Bend and the Red River and holding up just fine O’Yeah A BLAST TO DRIVE!! Did your google only find one story and it was a racing hull that was not designed to perform as per there bass boats. But will say this no one that knows anything about performance boats would ever use Bullet and junk in the same sentence. But your right Do Love to FISH!
Show me the specs on materials they use, on the web. Tests they have run on strength, or is that propriatary info. Not just that they use higher quality material as you say. You may just make a believer out of me.
Yes I do Know what a chopper gun is. So does Ranger and many others.
An Interesting note is that Bullet does not warranty there hulls if you purchase the racing hull. They say they are about 100lbs less weight.
You say “and makes their boats by hand” stratos are hand laid.
Still, my question has not been answered Y so LIGHT weight.
Don’t get so defensive, I never said a bullet is junk.
“do a google search for do bullet boats have weaker hulls” wow you got us… that is irrefutable proof.
do you know what a chopper gun is?
do you know about the different types of marine resins?
there may be alot of miss-information floating on the internet from other non-bullet owners, but the truth is that mass of hull does not at all directly translate into strength or durability. Bullet uses higher quality materials than many other manufacturers and makes their boats by hand. They are strong
Please do explain y they are so much lighter? Because, the research that I have done, says otherwise. Infact even unsafe in some scenarios. Just do a google search for, (do bullet boats have weaker hulls). Change bullet to ranger or champion or Nitro Etc. see what you come up with. Don’t get me wrong, if a bullet was giving to me or I won one or could be had for a steal of a price. I would love to have one. Then I would sell it for a cookie cutter. One thing we can agree on, we love to fish.
you should tour the factory… bullet and allison hulls are the strongest in the industry. My ’96 20XD has been fished hard but still doesn’t have a stress crack. Compare my boat to a ranger or triton or nitro from 1996 and you will be dissapointed.
Weaker hull huh Ha a mind is a terrible thing to waste.Better do some research on materials before you start passing judgement on equipment ! These are custom built boats not cookie cutters.
Wrong dv6000hp! They are lighter, but they use better and stronger materials in the Bullets and Allisons. It is obvious you have not ridden in one. I personally do not own one, but a Bullet will be my next boat. Believe me, nothing is missing! I once had your attitude, until I rode in one. The weight reduction is one reason their faster, but mainly the bottom on these boats is a completely different design. They ride and handle better than you can imagine, in smooth water or rough. Please try 1
Great Video! Love the sounds! I have to say though. The only reason these boats are fast is because of there hull weight. And for the most part they have souped up motors on em. If you want fishibilty and a more durable hull get something else. If you want fast but a weaker hull get an allison or bullet. Some people will say I’m wrong, but simply look up the hull weights your self and compare on line. If it’s lighter than the norm, something is missing.
Sorry olebiker, misunderstood your comment. My Bullet nose stays very flat when fishing. I have a 2.5 L racing motor. Does not weigh nearly as much as the heavier 3.0 L motors. I can see how their nose would tend to be more nose up fishing, and not have as shallow draft as I do. As a friend of mine says! My Bullet sits on the water, not in it!
I’m talking about when you are fishing, not running. A bass boat should sit level in the water when fishing. Go fast boats are usually very light and have big motors hanging on jackplates that cause them to ride nose-high when fishing. The wind catches the bow like a sail and blows the boat around.
Olebiker! Your old bass tracker does not run fast enough to have to worry about the wind moving it around. You must have ridin in a Bullet or Allison that was not set up right. They are more stable than most until you get near 100MPH.
I have fished out of several Bullets, Allisons, and other go-fast bass boats. They all seemed to ride nose-high when fishing and get blown around in the wind worse than my old Bass Tracker.
NO MUSIC JUST MOTOR SOUNDS hehe well done!
Both of these Bullets run off 93 octane pump fuel!!! Not race fuel.
petrol huh?
Those mercs are music to my ears buddy and I am sure to yours also.
Wish I could, but cant say anything bad about an allison there both playing on the same level.Only diference in the allison your buts closer to the water.Have driven, road, and fished out of both no complaints obout either just good times on the water.
what happens if you hit a rock or stump going that fast?
They will do either one with equal enthusiasm and fish shallow water better than any other performance bass rig ,and handles big water without any problems
Your making Bill Hill proud.
super cool vid bullet boats are awesome and i noticed the guy in the ski boat wasnt wearing a life jacket guess it dont go fast enough and again cool vid
