Rim Canal can be OK. (At least it’s out of the wind most of the time.)
With the weather the way it’s been latley, (record lows), if I were you I’d either Flip heavy vegetation mats with smaller 1/4 OZ Jig/Sabertail Bug, 1/8 OZ screw-in Florida Worm weight (with Spinning gear & low diameter Power Pro 4/15 line) with a Gulp 6″ Floating Nightcrawler rigged Texas style, a no weight Berkley Jerk Shad in Arkansas Shiner color, OR (drum roll) a 5″ Shiner fished near a weed-bed with a drop-off into deeper water.
A Shiner would be your best bet this week, (because of the cold).
