Can fresh water boats go into the ocean?
Im moving from TN to Mobile Alabama it looks like several fresh water rivers dump into mobile bay. I think I will fish both the bay and the river. Do I need to sell my bass boat for a salt water boat. Or can i modify my boat to prevent corrosion? Any information will be appreciated.

No you dont have to sell it you can use it in the bay and in warm water channels and that’s about it but you have to wash it cause when the water dryes on the boat you can see the salt all over it…
im sure theres a coating you can have sprayes on if its fibreglass or metal construction called platikote i think, but its better to consult a professional, just ask them for a free quote,oh and dont quote me on the name of the product but im sure its a name similar to that, just google it.
just run it it will be fine
Yes. But when your done boating for the day, flush out the engine with plenty of fresh water and remove as much saltwater you can from any metal parts. Getting a galvanized versus a painted only trailer would be good idea. Other than that, you should be just fine.
Your boat will work just fine in Mobile Bay. I don’t think there is anything that you would need to change because of the salinity of the water in the bay.
You should be fine. Just make sure you wash down your boat and flush out the engines when your done.
It depends what kind of hull your boat has because some are not able for seawater .
