Does anyone know what the fresh water fishing is like in New Zealand?

Can someone fill me in, I’m thinking about moving and I love to fish for Bass, and Muskie… I know these fish don’t exist there but is there anything alike? Are there any Ranger or Nitro type fishing boats availiable there(low in the water bass style)? I know trout fishing is good, but what else freshwater, preferably top lure.

  • zee_prime:

Here in the South Island the fishing is as good as it gets, with the possible exception of Iceland. Brown and rainbow trout, and, in a few rivers, salmon.

although I haven’t been yet, I hear that the trout fishing is superb in the South Island.
