Early Spring Bass Fishing?
Alright, So we’re about to pull the boat out for the first time after winter storage. I wanted to know what kind of advice you could give me for Lg mouth Bass fishing tactics in these early spring/late winter conditions?
My location is central Illinois on Lake Sangchris, there will be lots of dead lily pads but not much visible vegetation, the lake is fairly warm because of the power plant at one end. Air temperature 54 deg. F
Here it is if you wanted more info on the lake itself http://dnr.state.il.us/lands/LANDMGT/PARKS/R4/sangch.htm

well bass r moving 2 the shallows,so they r going 2 be closer 2 the bank.i know this cause i do alot of fishing my self and if your /lake is as muddy as the 1 i fishin in alot, but wen it rains a lot i lik 2 use more of a brighter worm or jig by the way u tail worms or trick worms are also veryaslo a jig and pig work very good but when its muddy most diffently go with your blacks and on more of a clear day u can use more of your browns and use a craw fish trailer on the jig and pig and also remember just cause its muddy doesnt mean u cant catch fish!!!!!!!!
thanks
I would start with a crankbait then rubber worm
hey man i can honestly say that i have never been to Illinois but my suggestion would be to stay along the edge and fish coverage and over laying trees. find places where the fish could find shelter or a place to hide. they will not be too much in the open water so if you see a tree over hangin the water or a dock or lilys pitch around those things. around this time drop shotting a worm would be a good tactic. man i hope this helps you out a bit. good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience
Spinnerbaits are easy to fish. You can honestly just chuck and wind it. As long as the blades are spinning you can catch fish. There really isn’t a wrong place to throw them.”
