I have a bass boat never in salt water. i wanna fish brackish water, can it run my boat in it.?

I have a 90 hp johnson on my bass boat. never been in salt water. I wanna start fishing brackish water at the coast. Would this damage my boat. What precautions should i take as far as the engine goes.

You shouldn’t have a problem. Brackish water doesn’t have enough salt concentration to damage anything. Most boats are made of the same material just saltwater boats are bigger to handle the tide and waves of saltwater. Everybody washes their boat after saltwater fishing to keep the salt from crystalizing in the engine or in the ports. But you shouldn’t worry just wash your boat afterwards.

you will encounter no problems at all .. Just remember your “house keeping” wash up clean up after your self and day out, run motor in FRESH WATER, for a few minutes then remove fuel line and let it run out.
As for the craft ,,,, all good, same deal as above wash up clean up, inspect hull for leaks, NEW dings and such, Now the nasty part a bucket of HOT soapy water soft hair broom, and wash the boat, top 2 bottom, stem to stern then hose off.
