MegaMel Tutorial on V-Drive Drag Boats

MegaMel explains the ins-and-outs of a V-Drive Drag Boat with his 1959 Biesemeyer built in Phoenix, Arizona. It has a 401 cubic inch Buick (1959), 300 HP V-8 engine with a Hall-Craft V-Drive.

Pete shows you what to look for in a boat when you like to fish differing species.

    Hi Mike,
Thanks for your note. I can’t wait to get the boat in the water. The cooling is via an intake in the bottom of the boat. It is pumped with a rubber vane water pump running by a V-belt off the crankshaft. It circulates thru the engine and exits through the exhaust manifolds.

Hey… does that take in water to cool it or is there a radiator?
