mini bass boats anyone?

i’m looking for someone who has used any of the mini bass boats like the colman bass classic, bassman exteme or bass hunter. if so, can you give me you opinion on how you liked or disliked it?

I had one of the early model water spiders. It was one of the most fun little boats I have ever owned. the newer craft are much better designed and built. if you plan to fish ponds, rivers or the edge of larger lakes, these little boats are great. most of the new boats have mounts front and back. a small outboard and/or a trolling motor can be mounted. I suggest you get both. the outboard gives you more range. if you use just a trolling motor, get the biggest one along with the best and largest capacity deep cycle battery you can afford. One word of caution. be careful using these small craft in big water. You can get into big trouble real quick. I speak from experience. I still love these wonderful little craft. PS===Sam’s Club has sold a fine little boat for a reasonable price.
Of the three models you listed I did like the bass hunter the best. A small electric trolling motor and battery really enables you to get around a pond if it’s not windy. Not much room for tackle, cooler or extra rods.
I learned to bass fish from these little craft. The styrofaom ‘waterwagon’ the injection molded ‘bass hunter’ and the inflatable ‘sevylor’. While each had it’s good points as opposed to fishing from the bank, each also was inherently unsafe. A 10′ jon boat would be the smallest boat I would want to be out on with any degree of confidence. I now have a 14′ jon boat with 15hp outboard and bow mount trolling motor which works very well for2 persons aboard on ponds and small lakes. Big water is too risky for using anything this smaller just to catch a few fish.
If you use good sense these small craft can be productive and fun.
great question! There are a few out there that even have built in live wells. I hope you get some good answers on this one.
Thats is going to depend what kind of water you are fishing, if you are fishing a big impoundment or something with gators, you definately don’t want one of those. For ponds they are all sweet!
