River Guide “Bass Guide” Pontoon – How To
The River Guide “Bass Guide”, made by Water Skeeter, is probably the biggest and best equipped of the one-person pontoon style boats. The swivel seat, casting platform and support rail make it safe and fun. The rear wheel makes it maneuverable even if you have lifting restrictions. It has lots of tacke storage space and the rear platform box can carry two gel batteries for the trolling motor. This one has a 30 hp motor which is very adequate. The boat is available at bass pro shops dot com and works well in smaller waters.

Well, Les Paul Fan, I sure don’t know what to tell you about that. The rod holders came with the boat so they MIGHT BE available as an accessory at Bass Pro Shops (where this boat came from)..You might also try to google Water Skeeter and see what you can find.
i like the rod holders, where can i buy some
Okey dokey. More fishing vids real soon I hope. Spring is right around the corner!
@Winkiedoodles well thank alot for trying to help Winkiedoodles, I guess ill go with the arrow boat because yes i do need to carry it on a bike and just make do with whatever i provides. Thanks for helping again and keep the videos comming I rally enjoy them!
Well, Movies, I really don’t know much about the Arrow boat, but anything you can afford (and I’m assuming can carry on a bicycle?) that floats will get you off the bank and should be fun. Don’t worry, eventually you’ll have a car and will get a kayak or something else. I’ve had many, many inflatable belly boats over the years, a bantam fishing boat and a bass boat. Just enjoy what you have at the moment as the future gets here before you know it.
It would be really hellpfull if you could give your imput on my scenario. I am a 15 year old and cannot afford a pontoon boat like this, also I do not have access to a car. I was really considering buying the arrow backpacking inflatable pontoon for fishing small local lakes, ponds, and streams. Do you think that boat is worth the money and will hold up? if not any other recomendations in that price range and convenience? Thank you for helping
Thanks for watching and commenting; I think that was a Cyberlink software production. I believe on that trip I used a Panasonic mini-DV camcorder and also used a Cannon digital camera mounted on that swivel foot thingy on the standing brace.
Ooops, just saw this comment from 6 months ago; sorry Fuzznuts. Anyway, those rod holders were just accessories that came with the River Guide. It also had two large velcro tackle bags; one for each side pontoon. Lots of goodies.
What kind of sofware are your using and what kind of cam-corder, it looks really nice. Thanks
Muchas Gracias! I will try to keep the videos light-hearted and entertaining, if possible! Buena Suerte (I hope that’s right spelling)!

Lovely setup and you`re such a funny guy, keep it up just like this
Best regards from Spain.
Well, the anchor system was part of the boat itself. I haven’t a clue as to where you might find such a device, but I bet something with pulleys could be rigged up if you have some metal braces on your pontoon that could have holes drilled in them. FYI, That 15 lb anchor doesn’t work very well in any kind of wind if you are on a lake.
also where did you get that anchor system? i cant seem to find much on the internet for my pontoon boat
hey where did you get that rod holder that holds several rods on the side of the pontoon?
Thanks for commenting. It is a nifty rig but is quite a bit more hassle than the floattube pontoon I also use a lot. But, one of the advantages is that the trolling motor does all the paddling!
Nice set up…We have a nice smallmouth river by me that would be perfect for…I like the set up with the rod holders
If you get a model that allows a trolling motor, it will have a mounting bracket behind the seat; clamp your trolling motor on that bracket. Next, your best bet might be a portable Hummingbird depth finder. It comes with a mounting bracket and instructions. I just looked around on my pontoon and put the mounting bracket in the most logical place. I don’t know of any tutorials but put your subject in the youtube search box and see what you might find.
Also, do you know of any tutorials that can instruct me on how to install electronics and a trolling motor to my pontoon boat.
These comment blocks don’t let you put site links in so try this. Google water skeeter bass guide. Click on the second link down and it takes you straight to the page at Bass Pro Shops. Have fun! If you just Google water skeeter you’ll see that there’s a bunch of different models and variations of pontoon boats.
Hero, I checked out Skeeter and Water Skeeter and could find no connection. So, your guess is as good as mine! Both companies make excellent products.
when you say “made by Water Skeeter” does that have anything to do with skeeter bass boats?
That is not too far out of my 16 year old price range. Can you post a link to the website of the company you bought your pontoon boat from.
Ooops, I think I posted a comment to myself on your question rather than a reply to you. You can read it just above your comment.
It retails for around $1,000 I think, then you have to add the trolling motor, depth finder and battery. There’s less expensive ones from various retail outlets as well so you can compare getting a pontoon, or a canoe, or a fishing kayak or a jon boat. All are viable options.
I got to get one. Did it cost much
