Strip Pit SPARKLY BASS FISHING

No 200 hp Triton Bass Boats allowed on strip pits, so my fishin’ buddy Barry (Mr. Sparkly) grabbed his belly boat and off we went to the Fewell conservation area East of Clinton, MO. Lots of fish were caught but the “missing” summer was back with a vengeance.

Hey, appreciate your watching this strip pit video! I hope to go there again this year!

  • Winkiedoodles:

That’s a good question but you need to reply to a gowolves4 comment instead of posting a comment on this video. That way, he’ll get it.

  • kawi3000:

    Awesome fishing man! 5/5

gowolves4, im a younger angler,12 and i want to get a family boat, but we might not be able too. how much is a mini x?

  • gowolves4:

I have a weaton terrier. He’s a bouncy little thing. Always wants to play. I need to try this place next time I’m in Mo.

    Tight lines.

  • Winkiedoodles:

Mark, you are obviously a master Kayaker! Thanks for the tip, and I will give a kayak strong consideration (might have to sell my River Guide pontoon first!). Yes, those silly dogs are something else! Do you have pets?

  • gowolves4:

I just saw the Bass Pro video. If I were you, I would pick up an Ocean Kayak Frenzy, and just install rod holders where you need them. You’ll spend about 300 dollars less. Haha, you’re dogs are funny.

    Tight Lines.

  • gowolves4:

No problem, keep the videos coming!

  • Winkiedoodles:

I just checked their website. Really cool stuff. Thanks for the tip!

  • gowolves4:

Oh, if you ever have some extra money set aside, buy a malibu mini x. I have one, it’s amazing. You can get where others can’t. Best investment I have ever made.

  • Winkiedoodles:

You bet! Sometimes the garlic seems to be exactly what they prefer! No, I haven’t kayaked but when I win the lottery the first thing I’m buying is a fishing kayak. My neighbor has one and I think they are wonderful.

  • gowolves4:

Yeah. I love pumpkin garlic or garlic for bass and pike, you should try it sometime. Do any kayak fishing?

  • Winkiedoodles:

I’m pretty sure that was a 4″ twin-curly tail Gary Yamamoto grub. I do like the Chompers, though, especially in the gourd green.

  • Winkiedoodles:

Hello, my pontoon friends! I used a program called Pinnacle. The version was 12-Ultra. I also have several extra options for the basic program. I am still learning how to use many of the add-ons and plug-ins!

  • gowolves4:

    Hey, are you using chompers?

  • mead6969:

    Hello!
You always make nice videos .
What does the editing software use?
I am affected by the video which you make!

  • Winkiedoodles:

Wow, I bet that horse contest was something else. Thanks for commenting!

  • shiteetah:

Nice vid again Don. Wanted to go fishing this W/E but ended up going to a fair to watch a draught horse contest which lasted 5 hrs on Saturday and I’m not sorry I did.

  • Winkiedoodles:

HA! I think you are correct! Due to the clear, sunny skies the larger fish were really scarce. The 12 inchers were all over the place.

  • layschips11:

    lol yes they are delicious

  • hardrockfreak1337:

That same bass was following you.

  • Winkiedoodles:

Matt, I think I did the old reply to myself again, sorry. I bet you are one of the few that “caught” that comment on global warming! Let me know how your Poague CA trip pans out.

  • Winkiedoodles:

Chips, you are welcome to steal any and all ideas that you happen to see. I sure don’t have the market cornered on how to catch fish (or else I’d be a pro) but I’ve learned a lot just watching or reading and then trying something new or different. Is someone in your family affiliated with Lays Chips? I’m sure you noticed I brought some with my lunch; they are indeed very good!

  • layschips11:

awesome video, and that tip about the finnese worm was awesome I caught some nice bream the other day with em, and layschips for life!!

  • Winkiedoodles:

Matt, no, there’s nothing remotely resembling a boat launch. There’s one trail that goes downhill from the boat launch and then drops down at about a 45 degree angle to the edge of the strip pit. I don’t remember a boat launch at Haysler, but saw a couple of places where it looked like people backed trailers down to the water in the mud. From my house both CAs are the same distance but this one is more remote. I’m going to try the other ponds when it cools down.

  • 70ply:
