What do you look for in a fishing boat?

Whether it be for Bass fishing or Offshore Big game fishing, what is a must have when you are looking for a boat. Are you simple or do you need all the Bells and Whistles?

Floating is essential when looking for a boat.
I know they are different. I am asking you personally what you like when you are looking for a boat. I am well aware of what I like and what is needed. I am just getting personal opinions of people on the fishing section.

  • Artie:

    Must
have a round bait tank (they swim in circles without banging into corners and dying off to quickly)
    GPS (God I hate fog)
    Ship to shore radio
Saltwater 4 stroke (Merc or Yami)
    plenty of rod storage
    extra box storage
    trolling motor
    electric anchor
    floor lights (for night fishing)
    built in cooler
    large live wells
if it has a windshield I would put a handrail around it.

  • Jayson:

It must float. Thats very important to me.

  • Richard E:

the 2 types are altogether different except they are both boats. no i dont have to have any bells and whistles but they are nice to have if you can afford them.

  • Navy201o:

    horn
    big fuel tank
    big compas

I am a simple fisherman. All I need, and specifically like, is a standard boat. I own 3 boats all of the same style with minor differences. All I look for is room for me and my friends to sit in, a place for a motor, and possibly a trolling motor, anything else is a luxury. A handy thing to have are collapsable seats that can go form boat to boat without any drilling. The differences I have in my boats are size, eahc one is used according to how many are going or what I am transporting, 16 foot, 12 foot and 10 foot. The 10 foot is my favourite as it is super light for an indivual and can be but on a quad to go from place to place.

    Enjoy fishing.
