My brother-in-law designs Triton bass boats, apparently they’re pretty good. Tritons are also fast (he used to design race boats before he got into bass boats).
Ask yourself this question: If your boat hits a rock or something, would you rather that it’s made of fiberglass or aluminum?
I would go with old fashioned aluminum flat bottomed boat
To answer this you have to know what type of water you will be fishing most. On a river I would rather have aluminium but on lakes I would have fiberglass. Are you planning on fishing in tournaments? Do you only bass fish or do you fish for all kinds of fish? It cost alot more to run a fiberglass boat and the insurance is higher. With fiberglass you have to have a bigger motor because they weigh more this means more gas and oil costs. As far as what is the best brand I would say for fiberglass it would be Ranger, For aluminium I would say G3. I hope this helps.
champion boats rock man, if you’re gonna be fishing lakes, big lakes especially, champion is the way to go.
if the lakes aren’t that big and you aren’t gonna be seeing big waves or anything, don’t spend big and just go with an aluminum. it all depends on the water you’re fishin.
Not so much which is really better (Aluminum or Fiberglass) but, if one decides on an Aluminum boat then keep close attention to it’s welds especially at stress points ie., bow, stearn/transom etc.. As for the boats comparison, have a friend that owns a Triton and says he wouldn’t have gone any other way

I presently own a ’04 Triton 20ft fiberglass boat, if I was to buy another rig, it would not be a Triton, due to Brunswick now owning them and they are having a lot of problems.
Besides that consider the weight difference between a fiberglass unit and a aluminum one as far as gas/diesel cost for your tow vehicle.
If I was going to buy me a new rig it would be a Xpress aluminum boats http://www.xpressboats.com/
I own a ’07 Dodge with a Cummins Engine so I would not have a problem hauling either glass or aluminum.
But you need to also consider the cost of gas you will use to push you rig. Take note Xpress makes a 22 ft aluminum rig that will take a 300 hp motor…..that is not a miss print either.

I was on a fishing trip and my friend had a bass tracker with a 90 HP motor in a weeks time he did not have to get gas at all where I had to get gas once…mine holds 44 gals and will only go around 120 water miles on a tank…..but thats also running 74 MPH from spot to spot …:)) and not just 40 MPH
Aluminum!!!!!
