Why do Bass Boats need to be so fast and have such giant engines.?

I’ve just been looking at American boats and the Bass Boats seem like rocket ships. When we go fishing in the UK we like to sneak up on the fish, not scare them out of the water.

It’s mainly so the bass fishermen can get to different parts of large lakes quickly. You fish in one area for a while, then go to another area. Maybe our lakes are bigger in the US. This doesn’t scare the fish out of the water either. Maybe our fish are tougher – pitbulls with gills – LOL!!!

When it comes ta’ Bass boats, a’ lot of their owners fish in tournaments and time is of the essence ie., changing spots for locating the fish and getting back to the weigh-in $tation$/dock$ in time so they can place in the winning$. And a’ Bass boat (big ones) will do just that ~ fast…;) < ' ( (( > <

Note: Once they’ve found their spot, an Electric Trollin’ motor will be the quietness for the fish;)…

I used to think they like to show off but now I know it’s all about time is money . They have to get to their fishing spots in a real hurry

They’ll all say that it’s because time is money when it comes to tournaments, but having worked for a year at a Ranger dealership, I know that it’s for the same reasons any guy buys a fancy, overpriced sportscar…..

And if you don’t know that reason, well… I’m not sure I wouldn’t get reported for putting it in print.

    Sorry about that, mister!

    hehe ;)

Time is money in tournaments, that’s one thing that pushed me away from bass fishing, its got very commercialized over the years and isn’t as “sporting” as it was when i was young. So the speed is needed for them to get to the fishing spot, before the “rivals” get there, when i used to fish, it was make do with another area of the lake, if you didn’t get there early enough, which showed how good of an angler you REALLY were, by catching more fish than them in a less productive area. That’s one thing that’s wrong with bass fishing today.
