Wintertime Redfishing ~ Charleston South Carolina

Sightfishing for Redfish on the Wando River in Charleston South Carolina. On the heels of a two week cold snap, we were lucky enough to find a few schools of hungry redfish sunning on a shallow mudflat. Fish were biting “Copper Head” flies and various soft plastics including the watermelon color “Devil Eye”. Fishing from the 19ft Scout Costa Flats Boat which are top of the line boats and can get you where the fish are! All fish were released healthy!

We’re hard at work on our fourth movie, inland waters kayak fishing, featuring kayaks from Native Watercraft, Jimbo Meador, muskies by Chippewa Flowage waters, and guiding services from Hayward Fly Fishing Company. Filming onsite in early June in northern Wisconsin was fabulous. Great water, great boats and some great fish. Here is a taste of what we are working on. Check www.quietwaterfilms.com for more updates! We’ll have this movie complete and available later this summer.

Love This Video -:) I spent 3 years by the Wando River in a one room cabin, 6 miles of dirt / mud road to get there… This video brings back many memories.

We spent two days with Hayward Fly Fishing Company in the Chippewa Flowage in northern Wisconsin. Great spot. First day morning was in the “Flowage” (aka lake), first day afternoon was on one of the Forks of the Chippewa River. The second day was on the other Fork of the Chippewa River. Can never remember which fork is which. Both were fabulous. Check our blog for a fly caught muskie (last November) that HFFC boated on the Chippewa River and released. HFFC is oar powered drift boats. Big fun.

  • KYak222:

    who makes your kayak/canoe ?
    they seem very steady

  • Vanderlingh:

The fish at 1:50 was a Northern Pike

  • spitoncat:

What kind of fish was that at 1:50?

  • QuietwaterFilms:

    Glad you like it!

Standing up in these boats is much like riding a bike. At first it feels “different” but once you get the hang of it, just like riding a bike, it becomes second nature. Poling one of these boats is one of my favorite watery things to do now.
