i need some suggestions on good fishing rods and reels?

i usually do small to medium game freshwater trout, catfish, bass, striper, etc. i have been borrowing my friends rod & reel the last few times ive gone and would like to have my own. any suggestions on brand/model?

I have a Zebco reel that I have had and fished with on a regular basis for the past 12 years or so. It has never given me a minutes problem. As far as the rod that I have it on, I don’t have a clue what kind it is. It was bought separately from the reel. However, I would suggest a Zebco rod since I’ve had such good performance with the reel. Happy fishing!
the brand “ugly stick” is really good.
I too would reccomend the Ugly Stick. I have had my first UglyStick for over 7years and it has served me very well. I now have 3 for different applications.
I prefer DAIWA myself..
