They all suck. Most of them are no where near being realistic.

The “Reel Fishing”series of games are really good. They take actually footage of streams, rivers and such and use them in the game.I really enjoyed the ocean fishing version.A cool feature of the series is that you can keep the fish you catch in aquariums back at your lodge and raise them as pets too.The series boasts a huge variety of fishing methods, baits and areas to fish at.Altogether they are very fun games.I’m not sure if they are for PD 2,but even if they are for PS 1,you can still play them on your PS 2,but you’ll need to use a PS 1 memory card.Hope this helps and happy fishing!

Top Angler. it’s a bit old but is awesome for those days when its snowing or the wind is howling at 30 mph like here in Asheville. It has the best lure selection and lure control of any fishing game I have ever played and I am 32 so my fishing games go back to Nintendo NES days. I have played Rapala and was very ashamed that a company of quality tackle put their name on that thing. Very limited lure selection (only Rapala hard baits) and the casting was very hard to do. Top Angler on the other hand has 2 colors for each lure and the control is amazing. You wanna throw a trout swim bait, you got it Say you wanna crash that shallow running crank bait off a dock piling go ahead. Shaky worm your deal? Top Angler has it. Tubes, spinner baits, in-line spinners, spoons, craw imitations, Senko style worms etc. The bass are nice too and get bigger the more you play. You catch Small mouth, large mouth, redeye, northern large mouth and Florida large mouth. Only has like 5 lakes but enough to keep you in the game. This game was developed by the company who did the original Sim City games before EA sucked it out. I am with you though on those ugly cold days waiting for spring this game feeds the urge. It has a tournament mode, practice, challenge and arcade modes. You would probably be able to find this for like $5 these days

Kentucky isn’t feeling too cold and even though the weather is cooling down, the fishing is heating up. I have been doing a LOT of Carp fishing recently and have been pulling in at least 1- or 2- fish a trip, mostly in the 4-6 lb. range.

Rapala’s series of video games suck, I have heard Reel Fishing is good but I have never tried it.

  • AlexR:

IMO, best fishing games for Playstation 2 are Sega Bass Fishing Duel, Fisherman’s Challenge, and Reel Fishing III.

  • .45 ACP:

Sega Bass Fishing Dual has to be the best game out there for PS2. It has two player mode, as far as I know it is the only one that has two player capabilities. Could be wrong, been about 3 years since I even held a controller, but when I did it was Sega Bass fishing dual all winter long!
