What is the minimum size trout that can be kept when caught in California?

I am wondering specifically about streams that fall under the general rules that have no specific regulations preventing fishing. I searched the regulations book at the department of fish and game website. There I found the minimums for bass but no trout. Are there minimums of length or weight for trout in California? If so, what are they. I thank you for your replies.

There is none that I saw, although it seems they have a 5 fish limit on most bodies of water.

You probably won’t want to keep a trout smaller than 9 or 10 inches anyway…too small to make it worth the effort to clean.

You CAN search this on the internet as easy as asking someone else to do it.

I think there are some size regulations on some waters, but not in general.

I went to the CA Freshwater Regs booklet and did a search for the word “Minimum”. A number of waters have minimum sizes, ranging from 10 to 18 inches, but most seem to have no size limit. (Note that there are maximum sizes on a few streams as well.)

no minimum size req. in cali, but the limit is five fish. no size on catfish or trout in cali. Unless otherwise stated at the location you will be fishing.
