This guy may be a jerk (as the previous reviewer seemed to think), but he sure seems to know his stuff. Not written as a scientific journal, it provides basic information about fishing for rockfish in language anyone can understand. It focuses on the Chesapeake Bay (where the author has lived and fished for decades). My only question is why he continually uses the phrase “striped bass” without ever mentioning that the fish is more commonly known in Maryland as “rockfish.” (Probably something his editors made him do.) Oh, and as for author’s alleged cursing (just so you’ll know, there isn’t any in the book), I think he would probably get along well with the fisherman for whom I am purchasing this book.

I absolutely recommend this book to all who have a genuine interest in this exciting Game fish we chase, the Striper.
Concise, credible, and knowledgeable information based upon the authors deep years of experience and affinity for the Striper. Understand the Striper’s biology & habits based upon weather/water conditions, location, season, food sources, as well as time and place, and you’ll consistently land more fish and raise the level of your experience for a lifetime.
Tactical and presentation recommendations on live baits and artificial’s give you what you need to know, when you need to know it, and how to deliver. Be prepared to catch more Striper’s after reading this book. Read it several times and keep it close by for reference-

Nicely collected materials in the book but the book however does not really tell you where to find Striped Bass… the book tells you what locations to fish but does nothing to tell you how to find them. Do not be misled into thinking the book will give information about finding striped bass. Other than this false claim, the other information about striped bass is very nicely put together.

I have not read this book (nor will I in the feature) but I believe I can provide a piece of good information. I had the displeasure of fishing with the author of this book several days ago. I won’t bore you with the details of our excursion but this author is a callow, disrespectful, rude individual who has no concept of how to carry on a conversation. He curses enough to make a sailor blush!!! For those of you who care where your hard-earned $ ends up when you make a purchase, skip buying any of Mr. Burnley’s books!!!!!!!!
