im trying to remember how my pops cooks it i know he lets it marinate in musterd fa sho then use some flower to fry it up! boomer sooner!!!!!!!

  • Newmania:

I’d go with a beer batter and deep fry them or maybe roll them in a mixture of flour, garlic powder, pepper and all spice and pan fry with some salt pork for flavour.

  • BIG DAWG EATS:

You just can’t beat frying them in peanut oil. Use white corn meal mix, add salt and pepper to taste and deep fry at 325 degrees until they float. It is best to filet them. No matter how small the filets.

it is pretty hard to fix them any better than the good old roll in corn meal and fry method

  • steven a:

Dip the filets in ranch dressing, roll them in seasoned bread crumbs and fry. Easy and delicious.

Here’s one I use if I have to eat alone.

    6-8 bluegill fillets
6-8 pats of butter (restaurant style)
slices of lemon &slices of orange

Place rinsed & patted dry fillets on plate
    Salt & Pepper to taste
Place a pat of butter on each fillet
Cover butter with1/2 slice each orange/lemon
Place in microwave on high 1-2 mins until they just turn opaque (they will continue to cook after you remove them from the micro/oven) (And thicker fillets will take longer to turn opaque, this can be adjusted by reducing the heating level, & extending the cooking time.)

    Side dish for above:
One frozen package of Green Giant (I use the rice, peas, mushroom medley)
    One slice American cheese

Shorten cooking time on directions by one minute.
    Cook.
    Remove, open & add cheese.
    Cook for one minute longer.
    Serve and enjoy

Total preparation & cooking time 10-15 minutes.
    Goodluck & Good fishing
