Yes, you can poach any fish. 1st make a court bouillon by adding onions, celery, a couple lemon wedges and salt & pepper to a pot and bring to boil. Turn down to a very gentle simmer. Poach the fish in this.
I prefer to catch them and retain them during legal fishing season…LOL!
Fillet them and poach them if you like. Much better flavor than Talapia which are farm raised and contain saturated fat as does Catfish.
I prefer mine either fried or baked instead of poached.
Baked with liberal application of red onions, black pepper, garlic powder, kosher salt and sour cream.
Yes.
I do it in beer, with a little black pepper on it.
Also put mild BBQ Sauce on it.

Yes you can if you have a fish poacher. You’ll need to stuff the fish with a lot of fresh herbs, garlic and onions, and poach in wite wine. It should flake w/fork when done. You can always throw in some new potatoes around the fish and your veggie of choice. A one pan meal ! *The wine reduction will make a great sauce as well.
My husband likes his bass deep fried. When we do it, we fry some large potato wedges first and sometimes corn on the cob. Serve with tartar sauce and a wedge of seasoned butter for the corn. Enjoy!
Sure, you can. I agree with the court boullion, and place a little salt and pepper on the fish just after you remove it from the water. You can add tartar sauce and dill to it as well.
