how do we get a breakdown to have that really quick and heavy august burns red sound?
basically im just curious about the way the breakdowns sound. we made a music track with bass, rhythm, and lead guitar all playing to the breakdown but it doesnt sound anything like what were used to. it can all be edited on the computer so my question is what is the, recipe i guess, of sounds at volumes and so on for each instrument to give it that heavier faster sound? Please and Thank You!

Lots of double bass, tremolo triplets on the guitar, and a constant bass line. Perhaps match the double bass with the guitar rhythm.
Use even rhythms (not much syncopation, if any), no melody and make sure that every instrument plays in near-unison (on the drums, bass is the most important, but creatively incorporate snare, toms and cymbals). Use the bass guitar to reinforce the sound of your guitars.
The major purpose of the traditional breakdown is to incite a mosh. If, when you play your breakdown back, you can imagine a bunch of people moshing, then you’ve done a good job.
Hope this helps.
find your own sound man.
1. you guys are different people with different instruments and amps so you won’t be able to get it very much the same.
2. they recorded it in a professional studio with really high quality mics and technology.
3. august burns red sucks anyways and your band is probably better then them haha
