Not very likely, im sure he had a lil help, sure the leverage of a good pole can do most of the work getting a beast like that in , but you still have to consider the lil boy had to turn that reel over an over for oh im thinkin about a good 30+ minutes for a 90 pounder

  • anglingchris:

Im16 and iv caught really big fish mostly tuna and when i was 11 i went on my first tuna trip and had really no problems and from my experiences tuna are harder fighting fish then cats so in a way i do believe that the 10 year old kid did bring it in but his cousin might have helped a little bit. His cousin most likely let him claim it because he hooked it.

  • arminisaboss:

im 15 and ive caught hundreds of cats and it seems that catfish dont fight to to much they just pull a bit mabye the kid knew how to fish and tired the fish out or something idk

  • IntoOutdoorsdotcom:

    true dat

  • livinctry:

being an avid catfisher myself you know the larger the catfish the less energy they want to expel

  • IntoOutdoorsdotcom:

@livinctry Could be lol good point seems like 10yr olds energy is like that duracell bunny! Thanks for commenting

  • livinctry:

very possible the ten year old no matter what he weighs is not pull two hundred fighting pounds back, im sure this is not his first fishing trip you wear the fish out and the leverage of the pole and tension bring in the fish so no matter if the kid is forty or one hundred pounds it can be done catfish tire relatively quick quicker than an excited ten year old would

  • The420Money:

makes sense if u think about it

  • killscooter:

    HELL YEAH!

  • IntoOutdoorsdotcom:

Good point but there’s a big difference between an adult and a child in terms of muscle development. Also, that’s not the key piece of evidence for my verdict. I think the story was kinda sketchy. Dad kinda stepped in and I just think there’s more to the story than that. Again, just my opinion. I could be totally wrong and if she did catch it great. I think she did play a role but not alone.

  • Ub3rNo0ber:

Well if you’re so concerned with the weight of the fish in relation to the weight of the kid, ponder this. How do you supposed a 200lb man lands a 650lb Grouper? How does a 180lb man land a 200 pound Tarpon? (Tarpon being known to be one of the strongest fighting fish per weight)

  • IntoOutdoorsdotcom:

Ya true but in this case i highly doubt it…

  • traviscsotona:

It is posible anything is! I caught a 46 in muskey ice fishing 4 lb line it took me a hour to reel it in. How long did it take for him to reel that one in?

  • toddgod1:

    i agree

  • audreylynn555:

    i agree

  • Th3M0nS13r:

    i caught a 11 ounce catfish lol

  • blamclam:

I don’t know. I think it’s possible. When I was 9 and living in Texas, I killed a 230 lb black bear with nothing more than a plastic spoon and a paper clip. Don’t forget that 11 yr old 1,000 lb Alabama boy who killed a 12 ft long hog with a BB gun. Our boys ain’t like them pansies they raise up North who’s only exposure to the outdoors is through an X-Box.

  • Thekatfishkiller:

i 100% agree with comptongnome about if he did or didnt at least he was outside enjoyin the outdoors

  • comptongnome:

dude, it doesnt matter either way. why u wanna steal the poor kids glory. the point is he was out on the water and not addicted to a video game like most youngns nowadays

  • datzfast:

if the fish swims in two directions and he winds it in when it swims at him no problem. the fish only weighs any thing out of water, in the water its just floating.
so, he caught that fucking fish. did he drag it on the bank or lift it into the boat?
    WHO GIVES A SHIT.

  • wesleylanemcbride:

    im a 11 and i caught a 94 pound cat

  • Rozzrocks666:

Well, when i was 10 I killed a killer whale with nothing but a harpoon, and a rubber life raft.

That said, i doubt this caught that fish.

  • tenneseesportsman:

couple of years back a 12 year old in chattanooga (where i live) caught a 100+ pound catfish

  • abrozak:

I totally agree I don’t think a third grader could do that I don’t even think my 15 1/2 year old cousin could do that

  • ChronicGreenskeeper:

I agree but if the kid hooked it himself on his pole than it doesn’t really matter who helped him land it, it would still be his fish
