@jbenwa79 Good question. I just seal them up with a normal sealant glue you can find at any hardware store or event in a grociery store with a automotive section.
) Good luck.
hey james how about a how to for the weights and rattles… once you put them in how do you reseal them?
@smileyj206 Thanks
@redwing385 360 box from Bass Pro Shops.
Great vid. I have one question though. What kind of tackle box do you use to hold all your frogs in?
@TwinStatesBassClub Spros are probably the best frogs on the market at this time:D
I just bought a Quantum Kinetic 7.0:1 with a BPS grapite series 6’6″MH rod.Doesnt have a light tip but I hope it works.Btw good video, very informational:)
where do you insert the nail whieght and rattle?…Also typpically how heavy of weight?
It doesn’t matter.
just wondering does braid color matter because there is green, Black and white but I dont know what to use
Go with what you have confidence in.
sounds good to me. good luck.
I have a 7’3″ Abu Garcia Vendetta rod with a 5.0:1 Quantum Energy reel, and 50lb Power Pro Braid. Will this work for frogging? This is the heaviest outfit I have so I was hoping it would work if I was only fishing around docks and things of that nature. No matted grass, just cover.
Why can’t I start out with a Green Tree Spro Bronzeye?
dont buy expensive brands…..get a MH field and stream rod…i got mines for $40 and watever reel you want…..the only reason why things are expensive is the brand…..
Sounds like you’ll be fine with that setup. A Heavy action rod won’t hurt you but if all you have is a MH then that would work fine for you considering your up in MI. Rage Tails are awesome! Have sound fun bud!
by the way, our MI bass average 1-5 lbs.
would a MH St.Croix Premier w/ 20lb. Spiderwire work well? I have a 7.0:1 Quantum Accurist flippin’ reel, also have you used rage tail frogs, plz reply, the rod works well for me, but I may need a H rod5*
@smileyj206 –> i sure will give it a try..but right now we have 13 inches of snow..no fishign for awhile..lol..but thank you
It might. But it doesn’t seem to bother the fish. 100% of the pros I know use the marker. If you’re worried about it, try a garlic marker from Spike It.
but mr smiley i have a question…doesnt the marker on the line leave a smell the fish can pick up? or does that odor go away after it enters the water?
@ 101germx — yes i have the stx and the quantum pt tour both around 170-200..if you send me your email i can give you a link to a place where you can get the kistler H2 for around 100-140
man I don’t have 400 dollars to spend on a rod an reel, revo stx are usually are around 200 an I looked up the dobyns 735 rod an it was around 200.
Any suggestions on other cheaper rods that will work?
James you are so right about the braided line. i love frogs. been fishing them for years. recently i have been using the spro with tremendous success. i fish heavy hydrila and pads. i use to use mono and flouro. did well but the line would break during casts or hook sets. i went to the braid line by izorline and i have NOT lost a fish yet do to line breakage. braid seems to cut thru the hydrilla.the marker idea is cool. i also use spike it on my frog feet
Idk i use 14lbs mono i never have trouble
