This is no fish tale. East Peoria landed a lunker. Bass Pro Shops will open its 58th destination outdoor superstore on riverfront property formerly known as the CILCO ash pond north of the Murray Baker Bridge by fall 2011, bringing hundreds of permanent jobs and millions of visitors to the area, city officials announced Thursday.
