California Fishing, what do I need?

Hello!

I’m going fishing tomorrow and I need a few fishing tips. I live in California and am going to be fishing in Folsom lake. In the lake they have rainbow trout, black bass, catfish and more. I’ve mostly heard good things about their bass and trout. Help me out! I’m bringing two polls: one for the bass, one for the trout. For the trout I was planning on using power bait, with the bass a drop shot. Do you think this would work well? If it helps , it will be 40-50 degrees.

Any and all advice will help!

If you fish your baits probably, yes, it may work. It’s still a little early in the year for a lot of bass. You may get a strike or two. Keep the hooks sticky sharp and make sure there’s no nicks/abrasions in your line. You should try a jig, too. Fill the bottom with your jig, and when you find a good hole, use your drop shot worm to key in on the fish. Just wiggle your rod tip for the drop shot.

Just cast and let the trout rod sit. That powerbait stuff is just about like bait, you just sit and wait.

Ill meet you out there tomorrow lol jk…i live in Sac and never really fished Folsom although Ive gone there quite a few times mostly to go swimming… the recent fishing report said it was good for trout and King Salmon so take some salmon tackle too, dont forget a portable heater… power bait should work, it seems to work well around here,,, even salmon eggs and redworms,,, take a couple spoons and a K15 for the salmon,,, if you have a boat Id check out the areas where the creeks flow into folsom and troll around there and cast towards the banks,,, my cousin told me about them and says theyre pretty good fishin… Good Luck and catch a bunch… let us know how it went
