can anybody give me some good tips for ice fishing?

ok. so i always go to my neighboring lake to try and catch some blue gill and bass and even possibly some catfish, and carp the last two i know how to but blue gill and bass? ive tried fake lures and even live nightcrawlers. can somebody please help me? oh by the way i only jig fish no tip ups.

I catch bluegills with wax worms and a small jig with a light bobber or a spring bobber on my ultra light ice rod. Also try near weeds. I use my vexlair to help find the fish.
Fish move very slow in cold water. Use a small bait. 1/2 a red worm, or a wax worm,small jig. Move it up or down very very slow! If allowed? some times a light near the hole will draw fish. If there are springs in the lake fish over them. The water will be warmer. Fish over deep submerged logs if you know were they are. Use light tackle.
