Can anyone give me tips on catching crappie and LG bass in my gpas lake?
I like to fish at my gpas lake off da dock and sumtimes out in the canoe. Ive been using live minows on jigs and i occasionaly catch a crappie.. but no basss any tips? plz

For crappie, here’s the best lures …
1.) A curly tailed grub, on a road-runner.
2.) A hair jig.
3.) A crappie jig (Wonder why it is called that?)
4.) Small in-line spinners.
5.) And if none of those work, live-minnows are the best solution.
And for the largemouth bass …
1.) A 6″ curly tailed worm.
2.) A 4″ stick worm.
3.) A chartreuse/white spinnerbait.
4.) Floating rapala minnow.
5.) A jig.
There you go …
Hope i helped ya out.
you have already found the crappie so you don’t need much help with that.
try casting bass lures underneath the docks for the bass. they like docks for hiding places. lots of dock owners sink brush beneath their dock to make them even more attractive. start with jigs or plastic worms rigged texas style, pegging the weight with a toothpick against the worm so they remain a unit skipping underneath the dock.
good luck to you, B.
try sitting a night crawlers on the fishing
In smaller bodies of water, there tends to be more vegetation, and the fish usually stay shallow. With this said, one of my favorite small body of water lures is the frog. There are lots of frogs in smaller bodies of water, and are at the top of a bass’s menu. You can always go weightless and skim it across the top if the water is above 55 degrees, or you can texas or carolina rig and go a little deeper. Any color will suffice, as I have not found a bad one. Just match color to how much light there is ex. cloudy/darker colors, sunny/lighter colors.
Lizards, plastic worms, jigs, and topwaters also produce well. I really concentrate on the shoreline while fishing small bodies. Lots of times, the biggest bass will be sitting a few feet off the bank.
I stay away from crankbaits, jerk baits, and anything with a trebel hook because you are constantly having to pull vegetation off your hooks. Also, bass have no interest in getting a mouth full of moss.
Good luck. Also, if the fish aren’t biting one lure, don’t be afraid to change quickly and find out what they’re eating. Most often you can figure out a small body of water within an hour or so.
Use a road runner for the crappies and a jig and pig combo or a plastic worm, lizards texas style or a spinnerbait under or around the dock for the bass.
