yes you can.i always fished where there are a lot of water Lillie’s,because they like to feed in that area.i would always use worms or rolled dough balls made of white bread.you will be surprise what the dough balls will do.good luck.

Try using live bait or like a gulp minnow and jig. Works great.

Yes, absolutely. I’ve done it many times. Try to find a place near lilly pads OR logs and or stumps, OR rocks. Another good place is along the edge of a beach, especially at night. I do as much night fishing as daytime.

hey man, yea you can catch fish from the bank. if there is some structure hangin over the water and you can toss along the bank i would toss a spinner down the side and crank it back to you and broad cast that spinner starting at one side pulling the lure along the bank and just cast it out from one side to another covering as much water as possible. alot of bass hang out along the edge hiding under cover. dont just toss out streight in front of you all the time. broad cast it all around the water. i like using a spinner fishin off the bank because because you are we kinda limited to the amount of water that you can cover and the spinner makes noise to get the bass’ attention. man i hope this helps you out a bit good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience

i have the same frusteration man, when i fish for bass from the bank i use live minnows, usually with some sort of wieght system so i can cast it way out there (where i fish, the banks are way too shallow and clear) i just cast out live minnow and act like im fishing for trout, just wait for the tug… i adopted this method when i was getting frusterated with casting a lure out in the shallows all the time when i could visable see no followers.
yea, if you use a lure practice ‘fan casting’ and pay extra attention to trying to cast parallel to the shore.
and like the other guy said, spinners are killer for bank fishing.

Yes. Almost all of my fishing is done from the bank (or dock) since i don’t have a boat, float tube, etc. (Looking for one though) and i have caught some pretty nice bass. Probably a few up to 5 lbs. from the pure bank, and 6-6 1/2 lbs from a dock. But my biggest at 8.6 lbs. came from a boat fishing a Rat-L-Trap.

    Happy fishing.
