Does anyone have any good fly fishing tips?


What flies to use? i am going for trout and bass in northern New Jersey
I just started? WHen do i reel a fish in and when do i strip it? ANything you are willing to tell me

    You have to fine out what fly there going for trout. I like the black ants fly and it is good for that but you have to fine out what fly there do like and good luck to you o.k.

    there is quite a bit about retrievs so ill answer a little and maybe someone else will fill in any gaps
    if you are fishing on a river cast upstream and let it float down below you then recast upstream..on a lake if it is a dry fly let it float and maybe just give a little jerk so that it looks like a dying bug if it is a streamer in a lake strip it in and just vary how you strip the fish will like something

    Try out a clouser’s minnow for trout and bass. Other good flies that will work for both are basically any streamer or nymph and many dry flies. Terrestrials work great such as a grasshopper or ant. Also Deer hair poppers work great for bass. Just stick with stripping the fish in, it is easier to control the fish and let out a particular amount of line when necessary.
