Fishing in socal, where can i actually catch a fish.. at least one!!?
I just went fishing in diamond valley lake (socal), i was there all day using all kinds of good baits… and nothing. I was in lake Perris last week, same story. not one friggin fish man!! i rented boats and i was trying for bass or catfish… or anything!
Is lake silverwood any good? are there any places to catch fish in southern California? and if there is/are, can u give me good tips (kinds of bait for, say, bass fishing…etc.)?
Thanks a bunch!

freshwater fishing or saltwater fishing?
i can only help you with saltwater fishing. but if you want to catch fish, you might want to go on open boat trips. open boat trips are trips you pay to go on the boat to fishing spots. here’s the info:

When I lived in San Diego, catching mackeral off OB pier was pretty easy. Just drop any kind of bait of OB pier and wait…sooner or later you will have a mackeral on the other end of your fishing line.
I love to fish!

There is no “sure” spot to catch fish. In my opinion fish are like women, you never know when they will bite and what they will be attracted to that day. LOL
But I do fish at Lake Silverwood. The fishing there is better than most lakes in So. Cal. I usually fish for trout. I have good luck with a Rebel lure that looks like a small (about 2 inch long) fish. It has a bit of sparkle to it. I do better with trolling with that lure rather then just casting and reeling. If the fish aren’t biting on the lure, I switch to a rainbow colored floating cheese bait. I use a sinker anchor about 2 ft. from the hook. (So the bait floats 2 feet above the floor of the lake) I also catch catfish with the that bait. I try different colors of cheese if one isn’t working that day. Also that lure that I mentioned works with bass. I dont fish for catfish, so I can’t really help you there.
Also I just want to say that Castaic Lake is not that great of fishing. Try to advoid it on holiday weekends. To many boats and jet skies then. Peramid Lake is ok, but kinda slow
I heard Lake Peru is good fishing, but I havent been there yet. Everytime I plan on it, they have a forrest fire near by.
My favorite place is above Bishop. I don’t go there much due to the distance. The stream fishing and lake fishing is great near Rock Creek and Twin Lakes. Oh there is a lake in Irvine (I forgot the name) but I had great luck there. I want to go back to that lake.
I hope helps. Good Luck!

And the name of that lake in Irvine is called Irvine lake. How could I forget that name. LOL
