some good tips are, try to go on light rain days, but you don’t have to.. all i know is largemouth tend to hide, or hang around weeds in the lake. While on your boat, (or if your on land) try not to make a lot of noise, because they can hear you, and will not come near you. If you are also going to buy bait, try to find a medium sized hook, and little fake fish (a scented one would be better, ask an employee) oh, and try to cast your fishing rod , as far as you can from your boat/or land. but sometime, when your on the boat, try to stay away from the shoreline, and cast towards the shore line, shadowy areas and underwater weeds.. i hope i helped. Have fun fishing! oh and p.s. if you didnt know already, bass wiggle ALOT, so to paralyze them temporarily, you have to pinch and hold their lower lip. HAVE FUN!

What type of bass are you fishing, would be a good place to start, different bass like different bait, and while there is overlap, being specific helps. I live in Pennsylvania and i prefer live baits for smallmouth bass (hellgrammites and mad-toms). Try casting in “bass structures” that means near logs, overhanging brush, holes, significant changes in depth in a small area, things like that. If your just a beginner i would also recommend a bait-casting reel. There are a lot of sites out there with specifics on bass fishing, videos too. If you use live baits, make sure not to let them find rocks to crawl under and get your line snagged. A lot of the time you want to make your bait seem like it injured or dislodged from a hiding place, for instance, cast up above where you think a fish is, and jerk your bait around a little bit to make it look like its having problems swimming, or make it seem as if your bait has disloged and is flowing away in the current. (more appropriate for river fishing) Another important thing is, if you do not plan on keeping your fish, be careful with them or else you will needlessly kill fish.

What kind of stuff do you want to know? A crankbait is a good lure to use to catch a lot of bass. A Strike King Series 3 is a good all around crankbait. It dives 0-8 feet, and is easy to use just throw it out and reel it in. Cast at any piece of cover (wood, grass, rocks, docks) and if there is good structure (point, drop off, flat, hump) make sure you make multiple casts to it. If you catch a bass off of wood, focus on that, if you catch one off of a point focus on that. Get a Bassmaster or FLW subscription an that will be more in depth. Hope this helps! Good Luck and Tight Lines!
