i use these topwater frogs and they work great!. i got them at dickssportinggoods for like 8$ but it was worth it. and i also caught a few bass with swimbait, which works really well

If your using a spinnerbait, you can never go wrong. The best location would be a round weeds. I don’t know anywhere in Massachusetts but, any place were there is bass, is a good place to fish for bass. It could be a creek, stream or lake.
Try using some spinnerbaits. Try some small ones first, then keep getting bigger to see what they strike. Crankbaits will work too. But, not too well in shallower water. Artificial worms will be good also. Try some Gulp! Products and any spinnerbait will almost work. Some are jsut better than others.

I got this advice when I started fishing for bass. Looking back it was very helpful in gaining confidence for catching bass. Pick 1 bait that you feel somewhat comforatable with. Go fishing with only that bait (OK, so bring a back up). I chose a Texas Rigged Worm. I stuck to a .7.6″ Culprit worm in Red Shad color. Fish it very slow by letting it sit for several seconds and lightly bounce it off the bottom and let it fall back down. Repeat… My back up would be a white spinner bait. Throw those 2 near cover (trees, branches, grass, banks, channel drop offs) and you’ll eventually catch em.

in the spring when the dogwood tree is in full bloom bass are on their spawn beds take a single hook no weight or float hook one whole nightcrawler and toss it to the fish it can not resist it it will eat it for sure you should try to release this fish unharmed so it may protect its nest the male sits on the nest and the larger female will be in the closest deeper water
