How do I catch large bass?

Although I fish for largemouth bass pretty regularly, (for about 8 years now) I have yet to catch a bass bigger than two pounds. Is there something obvious I can do? I routinely catch smaller bass on plastics, spinnerbaits, rattletraps, etc. but I have NEVER caught a decent size fish.

I even bought a small boat a couple years ago thinking It will surely improve my chances getting me into deeper water, but still no luck.

I realize every body of water/situation is different but anyone got any pointers/tips?

Buzz top water bait early in the mourning or late in the evening while it is slightly windy and or real cloudy. The bigger the bait the larger the fish not as many hits but if its a trophy you are looking for use a large bait. It is illegal to use baby perch for bait as perch is considered a game fish to some and it is one of the basses favorite meals.Use a large shiner the bigges one you can find on limp line that is strong under a small cork so the fish will give off alot of action.Good eagle claw hook and maybe some spider wire but spider wire takes some getting used to.
