The way I like to fish for bass when they aren’t hitting is Texas rig a plastic worm without any added weight. 4-6 inch worm, 2/0-3/0 hook. Through it right into the weeds and twitch it through. If you get caught up in some thick weeds, don’t be afraid to rip it out. A lot of times this is when a bass will hit it hard.

The last 3 years the method that has worked the best for me is plastics rigged Texas style and fished weightless with several pauses on the retrieve and use nothing but light twitches of the rod during the retrieve. This is the lures that I have had the greatest success with using this method.
The Senko and the Yum Dinger type of baits, A Zoom trick worm, A Zoom Speed worm in the paddle tail variety. These lures are great in lily pads, around trees, stickups, logs, shoreline, and weeds and grass beds. For deeper water fishing I Texas rig a Zoom Baby Brush Hog and use a sliding sinker. A Zoom lizard works well also, as does the Zoom Paddle tail. Unless there is schooling bass these lures catch 80% of my bass.

I am a avid fisher woman and have been fishing for largemouth bass for about 30 years now. At first I didn’t catch many bass. They are tricky to catch. Now, I find I am quite successful. First, remember that bass are ambush feeders. They like to lay in wait for some unsuspecting bait fish, worm, snake, crayfish, frog, etc., to come along and then they lunge at them with that big mouth of theirs wide open. Nothing can escape that mouth because they create a backwash with their attack. Now, you want to fish with top water baits early morning. When I say early morning, I mean before the sun breaks the horizen and while the mist hoovers over the water. Use a noisey top water bait such as a broken minnow or a hula popper. Cast at banks, around tree stumps and moss beds. Keep that bait moving. After the sun comes up and late afternoon switch to rattle traps, spinner baits with plastic grubs, or plastic worms. Fish deeper water but not real deep. Still cast around tree stumps, moss beds, or at the bank but not right up on it. You are going to have to switch baits often. A bait that was very productive yesterday probably won’t catch a thing today. Most fishermen keep three or four rod and reels in their boats baited with different kinds of baits so all they have to do is pick up one of them and cast eliminating wasted time. Late evenings, almost dark it is top water time again. During the very hot part of the day use deep divers such torpedos or deep diving crank baits. Follow this rule and you can’t help but catch bass. Bait fish have the ability to change color as needed. So, to mimick bait fish, use opaque plastics such grubs and worms on cloudy overcast days or in murky water. Use a clear plastic with a little sparkle on clear sun shiny days or in clear water. Use copper or bronze spoons on overcast days and murky water. Use silver spoons on clear sun shiny days or clear water. Always keep your bait moving. If you are not dead tired and you have not thrown your arm away casting at the end of the day bass fishing then you did not do it right. One other thing. Bass feed on snakes. There have documented cases of fishermen getting snake bit retrieving their baits from bass’ mouths. Use long nose pliers to retrieve your bait. Good Luck and have a safe time on the water.

Sharon has some great tips, there a lots of techniques but I will tell only one the one I like the most, first find a pond , if there a big famous lake nearby , think outside the box and don’t fish the lake , find a small pond way back in the woods many fisherman aren’t to fish there , the reason they fish is so don’t have to hike or anything. You’ll have the whole pond to your self, use a rubber frog lure its a hollow lure that floats and looks like a frog, now slowly reel it in over lilly pads the bass are hiding right under neath and then BAM !!! a big daddy bass will slam the on the frog and scare you out of your bones, now let em squeege the frog and let the hooks in and set it, this not as easy as it sounds,
one time i hiked a few miles to a pond and using a in line spinner I caught a pickerel ,but then a huge big month bass caught the pickerel so the pickerel gets off and i end up catching a huge 23 Inch big daddy big month bass WOW!
