Proper fishing technique?
1) How long should i stay in one place, if there isn’t anything biting?
2) If I have a confrontation with a fish, and reel it in or not. Does that scare off the rest of the fish?
3) how far should the weight be from the hook when fishing for bass?
1)either or, what is the technique for both?
2)what about bluegill?
3)A lake, and fishing with a pole with a real

1)what are you using for bait? live bait or artificial bait?
2)again depends on what your fishing for? bass are very Territorial if you happen to catch a big one try that spot again cuz a another one will take his place.
3)where are you fishing, ponds,,rivers ect… and what are you fishing with?
I’d say a worm, bluegill hook, a splitshot or two about 6″ from the hook is fine, and a bobber.
Fish usually hit this right away if fish are there. So I think leave it out maybe 2 minutes and try it again nearby. When you catch a fish, it really doesn’t scare them too bad. Often you will catch another right away on the next cast. If you catch 3 or 4 fish from the same spot it will probably take maybe 5 minutes for them to get biting again.
1). That’d be your decision but, tell ya’ if your not gettin’ any hits/bites then I’d I suggest tryin’ a different spot ~ know I do

… However, I’ve givin’ you a link for a great site that will give ya’ all the basics and then some, when it comes to fishin’ ie., fishin’ line, differences between rod and reel types, what bait ta’ use, species of fish, etc., etc… Hope this helps out

2). A confrontation with a fish, that be easy ~ you bet your boots you’d reel it in. There is another method that I’ve practiced over many a’ years and that’d be “Catch & Release”. Not goin’ into that because one has to have the correct know how on doin’ it ie., makin’ sure the fish will sustain after the catchin’ of it. Fiqured in time you’ll be pickin’ up a lot and that’ll be one of them…
3). Generally speakin’ weight/sinker should be 18-20 inches above the hook (I assume your takin’ live bait (nightcrawlers, worms, etc.). Won’t deleve into “Leaders” because those are some of the things you’ll be gettin’ into as time goes on
Note: Here is one other site that’ll come in handy, it be for tyin’ of just bout’ every knot on the “Market” (their animated for easier learnin’). Also this site should answer the questions on your “Additional Details”…..
