Bait wise, you’ll want to use ballyhoo or pinfish. Throw a mixture of chum/sand out while trolling then throw out your lines (outriggers help). Fishing for dolphin (mahi), you need to look for long trails of sea grass, and tuna, they just come with the chum/bait combo. We usually go at least 20 miles out though…depends on what kind you prefer.

Where are you fishing? It makes a difference if it is in the N.E. or West coast. Gulf etc..

I use fresh shrimp and fresh squid. Fresh works much better than frozen bait.
Next choices would be small fish/minnows or fresh clams then cut bait

Go fresh water fishing and catch you some Bream and keep them alive. USe them in salt water. with a 3/0 Hook./ thru the eyes. You will Hook into a big one.
