  • Suzy Q:

I am more of a Catfisher Woman myself. LOL! But now that the weather is getting a little cooler the fish will be biting better. I am sure you know that the Bass hang out in old trees and things like that in the water. They love the cover but it is so easy to get your hook hung up. I don’t have anything special. If you get any good tips let me know!

  • GrizBear68:

Fish deep during the day. Shallow at night.

Rapala bleeding jointed shad lures kick serious butt.

    Stop reeling when they jump.

Never fish the same spot longer then 20 minutes.

  • Live to fish:

Wind from the east- fishing is least
Wind from the west-fishing is best
In the fall of the year lakes go through “turnover” when cool water near the surface starts sinking and mixing with slightly warmer water just below the surface. This is a tough time to fish, but you can do it.

get a good shimano rod (clarus and better) or g-loomis rod (gl3, glx, imx). 6.6 feet-7.1 feet long, med heavy w/ fast action tip or heavy w/ fast action tip.

get shimano reels. for casting get a curado or better/size 200-300. for spinning get a sahara or better/size 2500.

for casting, i use trilene 12lbs clear fluorocarbon .
for spinning, i use power pro 50lbs moss green for the grassy patches but you can use what ever you want.

lures- just try and experiment with many different kinds.
on a boat, hit the points where bank and water meets. (using senko worm or a grub rigged weedless and 1/4oz bullet weight) cast past the point, let the lure drop to the bottom and slowly reel in and every 4-5 cranks, jerk softly. the fishes should be at the point ready to catch anyting drifting by. check for bank drop offs in the water, sometimes the big ones cruise the shoreline but hide in the drop off for ambush. lily pads, tree stumps, log structures, and tully bases are good bass hidding spots. algea covered coves and shore lines are good for frog use. if you get a hit that pops the frog into the air and miss, don’t worry about it. it’s a small one. the big guys will usually just suck the frog under and thats when the 50lbs tests come into play. shallow water with some vegetation, a buzz bait works great. it will either let you know if there are fishes there or not. it’s pretty awesome when they hit the buzz bait. for deep water i use spinners and worms, open water, a nice size trout, shad, or blue gill swim bait. blah, blah, blah…you get the picture.

  • one eye:

Fish deep and slow in the heat, worms and surface lures in the morning and evening. Keep changing colors and techniques to find the bass.

Hey SuzieQ…………are you single, under 60 and over 40? I’ve been looking for female fishing partner for a long time. If you can clean house, cook and still go fishing with me, you might have a new job.
