What is the best kind of fishing lures to use in around 50 degree water for large mouth?

I was wandering if I should use jigs or crankbaits. I know bass are moving slower around this temp. Any tips for lure useage would be great!

Try small Jigs (1/8-1/4) with a Berkley Grub or Leech.

A small Husky Jerk minnow works well.

4″ Senko fished SUPER slow on a Texas Rig(Using the “dead stick” retrieve).

Here in MN I’ve noticed a “trend” in cold water Bass fishing:
Small lures with very little “large movement” action works best!

    My favorite? A black 1/8 oz marabou Hair-jig under a “dial-a-depth” float.

    Hope this helps? Good luck!

50 degrees is actually not all that cold. They will think about spawning soon. A crankbait fished at a steady pace is good, jigs are always good. A lot depends on whether you find them shallow or deep. Lizards on a Carolina rig will be good soon.
