What to bring on fishing trip?

On Saturday in going fishing at Randy Poynter Lake. It has Bass, Bream, Catfish, and Crappie. I have a Zebco 404 reel, size 6 hooks, and canadian nightcrawlers. Can you give me tips on where each fish likes to “hang out”. And tell me if I need more equipment. Thanks

First off how old is the line? How old are you? no matter how much fishing becomes part of your life, whether it becomes more important to you or not. You will never have enough equipment. You will never stop learning and you will always want more of everything including those never forgettable catching experiences. you have a true beginners rod and reel I wouldn’t focus on the bass or even the catfish so get a bobber and hook and use a quarter of a night crawler on the hook and put the bobber fifteen inches above the hook and cast out into two foot deep water and have fun. when you want more you should read books about bass and the baits, the methods of how to present them and the places to look for them in order to catch them.

Bass love the weeds and other structure that offers them shade and protection (also it offers a good vantage point to attack passing bait.). You will need either a bobber or some split shot too. That will be your bare minimum there.

I agree with Artie. I would drop the Canadian worms though and get regular large crawlers. The Canadian breed have a slime to them that makes my hands itch when I touch them… I also have never caught anything with them (dam wal-mart worms)! Good luck to you.
