bad customer service, should i ask for a discount or giftcard?

I ordered a fishing pole from bass pro shops over a month ago. There were some missing pieces for the fishing reel. I made the complaint a month ago from today. They said the piece will be shipped within 14 days. well it’s been over 14 days and the pieces still haven’t been shipped. This was supposed to be a christmas present for my girlfriend. I’m not going to give it to her if there are missing pieces. How can I get a gift card or something else out of them for poor service?

Ask for both
Call their customer service number and ask for both.
I think they still deserve one more chance at full price, you’ve still got a week and a half before Christmas. Call them and ask them to use expedited shipping to make sure the parts get there on time. Or ask them to send you a new pole AND pay for expedited shipping AND pay for return shipping on the one you’ve already got.
This is their fault, they should be happy to make things work for you. You planned far enough ahead to get it there by Christmas and because of their lack of attention / quality control you’ve received only part of your present. It wouldn’t be out of line to ask for a discount on top of taking care of this for you for the hassle they’ve caused but, if they don’t go for it I wouldn’t get too upset. They’ve still got plenty of time to get this done by Christmas.
First thing is to call the costumer service, speak with the person there if they cannot give you the results you are wanting ( which they prolly wont be able to ) ask for there superior keep doing this till you get to someone who can. be polite and nice thru the whole process. I have found the nicer you are the better chance of a result, but do have a sound of frustration in your voice that way they can hear you are not happy.
If at any time they hang up on you or do not satisfy you becuase of bad service call them back and let them know you are going to file a complaint with the BBB that will get there attention, may not help you but enuff of that and they will be hurting. but this is a last ditch if the first part does not work.
