baitcasting reel or another open face?

i have maybe 10 open face reels and want to try a baitcaster. i love bass fishing and panfish, perch, walleye, things like that. what kind of pole would be better for in a boat and everything? what are the pro’s and con’sof both?

ive been an open face reel man for years-only pro i see with bait caster is longer casts-never got the hang of them
i use open face, bait caster as well as fly rod from my boats.
the only real way to find out the pros & cons of any type of fishing rig, is to buy 1 & use it, rather than trusting what someone else tells you.
on this site, there are a lot of people will tell you stuff about their fishing skills, when it is doubtful if they have ever picked up a rod of any type, much less caught a fish.
trust what you can learn yourself, not what someone else tells you
