Does anyone have instructions or manual for the older (1980′s)version of Bass Pros Color-C-Lector for fishing
The Color-C-Lector is a temp/ph/color sensor on a cable that you drop into the lake for help in fishing. Whether you think it works or no (deal or dud) is of no concern..everyone has their opinion…I just need the instructions for adjusting for PH, etc. Any help is appreciated.

Wow I actually use to have one of those. As far as deal or dud I was in the middle on that. The way I used mine was in tandem with my locator. I would check the water level that I was marking fish or bait fish and see what the water clarity was. Very dark water dark lures. mid-rage fluorescent. Clear I really like natural colors. As far as setting the PH I can’t remember what it looked like but if you know where the adjustment is you can pick up some PH strips. and check different waters to tune it in (fish tank, lake , stream or tap water) Do some research on the species you fish for and the PH they prefer. But finding there food source will get you more fish. Good Luck.
Can I interest you in a new finest quality “Fish Whistle”?
Guaranteed to help you catch finicky fishies.
I was at a lake and saw where someone had thrown out a brand new Color-C-Lector (Hannibal Lector’s Brother?) in the trash barrel so I picked it up and thought this might be a really cool useful tool for locating bass. After many repeated tries to make use of the valuable data it collected…..I threw it away too !!!!! LMAO
I commend your effort to do the same, best wishes.
Some one is selling the manuals on e-bay. Just do a search for lake systems color c lector manual. I have the 1984 model that came with my boat. I also have no manual. I like to take it out and joke with my friends its like the magic 8 ball! Looks hazy! Joking aside as far as I can tell it is just a light sensor on a heavy weight. even the shadow of the boat will change the reading. I found online forums more help full in choosing the right bate and color for different conditions than this crazy gadget.
