Fishing Help? I’m Clueless!?
Ok i’m going out with a friend to go fishing but i dont know a dang thing! i’ve been in bass pro shop three days in a row trying to learn what I need to know to not look like an idiot, but i still need some help. If I am going bass fishing in Georgia what type of line do i need and what do I need in my tackle box? oh and how do i “spool” my reel?

you need about a 20 to 40 pound line. you need spare hooks and line and bobbers and weights depending what you use.
First off is where you’re going fishing. River or pond?
Do you have a rod?
It depends on what time you fish too man. Morning, afternoon or evening?
The guys at bass pro shop will spool your reel for you too. Buy some powerpro ten lb test.
There are lots of questions before you can get the right answers. You’re best bet is not too fancy, jsut the basics. Ask the guys at the shop.
ok you stated that you didn’t want to look like a idiot? that is what these guys are paid for. tell them the truth and they will help you. i’ve been fishing for 30+ years and still feel like an amateur in pro shops. i ask allot of questions. i’m not familiar with your area so i can’t give you any answers. please go back to bass pro shops and find a clerk in the fishing dept. and be specific with what where and when you are going. remember that the person you are talking to started off like you. also bass pro shops will spool your reel for you. but don’t use there house line it sucks buy your own and ask them to spool it for you
Well, unfortunately, fishing takes a lifetime to learn not only what lures work and don’t work, but also the factors you can’t control: atmospheric pressure, water temperature, water clarity and whether or not the fish ‘feel’ like biting that day. A certain lure could be a gold mine one day and trash the next. Fortunately for you, you’ve come to the right place; I may not be an old salt, but I can hold my own. As with anything in fishing, it all comes down to preference, but I will tell you the rig I have. I don’t think BPS sells this brand it’s a Rhino 6’6″ Medium-action Glow-Tip rod w/ a Rhino RSP30 spinning reel spooled with 8-lb mono. Unfortunately, I’ve only fished in Florida, South Carolina, and Virginia; don’t have a clue about Georgia. Anyway, both of my uncles uses Berkley Trilene XL 12-lb mono. I don’t know if your lake or pond has sunken tree stumps or rocks so I would suggest using Trilene XT 12-lb. For the lure I would suggest something called a ‘Devil Horse.’ It’s a long wooden or plastic lure that has propellers at both ends. To get the maximum spinning action, take a pair of pliers and bend each fluke in opposite directions. On the first propeller, bend one foward, the other backward; same on the back. Another lure is a Storm Rattlin’ Chug Bug, which is a surface popper. The technique is simple. Throw it out. Let it rest for a second, pop, rest, pop pop, rest, pop pop pop. You should take notice of the bait’s color and buy accordingly. Here’s the link: http://www.stormlures.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=rattlin_chug_bug&freshorsalt=Fresh&type=hard_lures
Now for spooling your reel take the end of your line and make a overhand knot and pull it tight. Next, make a slip knot and put the knot as close to the bottom as you can. Also, wet the line so the knot slides easier. If you can, put the rod between your legs or kness, if possible. Now grab the rod with four fingers and pinch the line with your index finger and crank hard! Fishing line performs better when it’s packed tightly on the spool. Hope this explains everything. Good luck and… Tight Lines!! <*{{///<
