im not a pro but and im a chick with like a couple of fishing trips lol but ill tell you always will get one with trees or stuff in the water thats where they hide , around the banks and dont throw your line to close to the tress because i got grouched at by my hubby for getting my line caught in the limbs lol

Banks and docks really don’t have much to do with locating your fish although docks will hold fish more times than not. The key thing you need to look for is cover. Stumps, brush, rocks, logs, docks, and shade are all good places to find fish.

There’s not really a “best” time to fish in my opinion. You can do well all day with the right presentations and baits. Generally speaking, morning and evening are the easiest time to locate and catch fish, especially Bass. Bass feed very heavily durring these times and are normally very shallow. Durring the warmer months you can use top water baits and do very well most of the time durring these times.
When the afternoon hours hit most fish will move and hold in deeper water. This is when baits like crankaits, spinnerbaits, Rattle Traps, plastic Texas Rigged baits, etc come in handy. Do your best to find how deep the fish are holding and experiement with your baits. You’ll eventually find what they are wanting.

Weedy areas, especially if there are logs in the water among the weeds. Points, dropoffs, docks, curves in a creek channel are all good places.

You will hear all kinds of different opinions but I like the areas where two different kinds of weed meet and if I can find a tree that has fallen into the water I will cast at it several times. Docks are OK. Check out these links for more detailed information.

Well, I am definitely not a pro, but I love to fish. Especially catfish…. Fish near logs, cover, but be careful, I usually get hung up at least once.. Watch the water, catfish will sometimes roll and you can kind of see where they MIGHT be. Sometimes when you get into catfish there will be a lot in that one spot. Just keep your line in the water and try different spots….You never know where they might be…
