fishing: whats the best way?
to use live bream as bass bait? where should i hook it, what size bobber should i use and how much depth should the bait be, also when the bass hit will the bobber go completely under or will it just move alot? im fishing in a 25 ft canal off a huge lake with plenty of lillypads and weeds along the shore.. the lake has been stocked before but i don’t know if that makes a difference or not.. please be specific of where to hook the bait cause i hear different things i want the bait to be struggling ,not dead and not too active. during the early morning(sunrise) should i fish near the lilly pads or along the shore or in the open water, cause i see alot of bass jumping in the open water and i would think near the shore would be best where the nest are but im no pro so please help. thanks alot i really appreciate your time

all right man first if your going to use live bait you need to insert the hook through the mouth with the point facing straight down its throat, then pull the hook up through the top of its head. you will probably get a good five minutes or so of good life from the fish before it dies so that should answer that. the bobber size all depends on the clarity of the water. the clearer the water the more the fish can see a bobber so you should use a smaller one. and larger for more murky water. when the bass hits, it all depends on the size of the bobber whether or not it will go under completely or just bob. Dude i don’t thnk anyone knows where the fish are, when i fish on the river, i always go for the bank but sure enough their jumpin out in the middle so anywhere there is water i guess there can be fish ha ha. hope this was helpful
Fly fishing is the greatest! bass bait.
I like to hook them thew the back, Like shinner fish`n,Be careful not to insert it thew the lateral line,The back of the dorsal fin. Most times they hang out near the lily pads and debris (sticks, logs, etc.) by the shore,.If there bed`n there less likely to bite, cause there taking care of it. The float should be placed around two feet less or more.
Oh! thanks for the best answer, It reminded me when I was young, use to do a little fly fish`n. I would take duck feathers (one feather) tie it to a hook, and catch bass. One time a small bass hit the fly, and a big one nailed him. It was cool.. Good luck on fishing..Bass sandwich, MmMm..

hook it through the mouth and out the nose always works. I don’t know what size bobber you should use, it depends on sinker size. If you get a split-shot sinker a medium sized one works fine. The bobber will DEFINENTLY go under if a bass bites, but you better be ready when it goes under. Sometimes the bobber just moves sideways fast too, you set the hook then too. Jumping fish will not bite good at all, for this i don’t know. You should fish near lilly pads in heavy grass if you want a lunker!
Tight Lines!!!
i don’t use bream because where i live we don’t have any. we have only bluegills. i just put the hook though the eye sockets right behind the eye ridge avoiding the eyeballs. the bait will swim for hours. as soon as a bait fish is startled or handled, it release stress chemicals through the slime coating on it’s body and the bass will sense it. leave a 3 foot lead with a medium size spring slip bobber. be sure to cast softly and preferably at a bank drop off from the edge of the pond or lake.
the best way IMO is to use a 5″ senko weedless style with a 1/2 oz bullet weight and with 40lbs power pro on a shimano or g-loomis spinning rod/reel set up.
