Getting started in Pro bass fishing.?

I would like to get information on how to get started in becoming a pro bass fisherman. Any information would be great.
It’s going to be very hard for me to get a boat. Is there still a way to enter tournaments with someone I didn’t know and still succeed?

Enter your local tournaments first to get a feel for competition. When you have done well in a couple of those research bigger tournaments online that fit you until you have reached pro level. Each competition should have info on the next level. And BTW Bass fishing is my fav! I grew up with a dad always searching for the huge Stealhead and then met my hubby who is an avid Big Mouth guy. Now I am in love! Wait … that sounded bad lol. Anyway, good luck and have fun!

I agree with her answer above. The only way to get your name out there is to get started in your local tournaments. When you start placing in those you can earn the money to get into bigger and better tournaments. You just have to keep on hitting the water hard. Eventually your name will get out and if your consistant you’ll have sponsors interested in you. Never give up on it.

Its stll possible without a boat yeah. Theres always a co-angler. So yes if you know somebody with a boat it can still happen no doubt. As far as entering with somebody you dont know im not sure how all that would work out.

your first join local regional clubs … for instance in california…WON bass or norcal bass.

Many tournaments have pro-am activities..you can join and take the back seat…this is very helpful technique to gain knowledge.

websites like westernbass.com also have classifieds for co-anglers and non-boaters.

there are even tournaments for float tubes and bank anglers.

There are two main ways to make it to the BASS Elite Series. Obviously the first thing you want to do is test yourself in local in regional tournaments. Try joining the federation nation for your state. The winner of that championship for that qualifies for the Elite Series. BASS also has three seperate open divisions that you can use to qualify. Check out bassmaster.com for more information. Good luck.

I have to agree, the best way to get started with out a boat is by joining a club. This is a cheap way of getting the feel of the sport. From there you can move up to the am side of the pro-ams. There are many out there. If all works out in your favor, you win a little and build your name and either buy a boat or get lucky enough to get sposored. It is a long road to make the big time, but if your are smart and learn from those around you on the way up you can make it.

Yes it will be hard to break into professional fishing , but you casn do it . Without a boat , it will be more difficult , but it can still be done. Join local bass clubs and fish as a non boater , learn something every time you get in a boat with someone, read fishing magazines especially how to articles , learn to be versatile and not just one way of fishing , start meeting people now so that when you build a name for yourself and they knoe it , you can check with them to be a sponsor for you . It won’t be easy but you can accomplish it if you really want to and work hard enough . Shoot for the stars and if you miss then yoou will still be higher than most . Most of all plan ahead, do your homework on the lakes you will be fishing , and have confidence in yourself . The best of luck to you .
