I need a little help with a community service project.?
My small rural town has a not for profit group that does community projects through out the year. From banquet for the seniors to easter egg hunts, fishing tournaments, and handing out goodies at Christmas. I was asked to help on the fishing tournament committee this year and it involves asking business both locally and major retailers for donations of fishing stuff for young kids for the prizes, and raffles. Is there a website that I can find out info as to what companies will donate (bass pro, cabala’s) also if anyone has done anything similar is it best to send out a letter with the groups letterhead and a little info about the group, or would email work best. They are focusing on getting families outside and doing things together and also trying to promote healthy activities too. So snack companies that focus on healthy snacks would help too.
Thanks for the help in advance.

You need to submit a request on the not for profit organization’s letterhead include the tax exempt number. Also include what the org does and what part of the population benefits. Remember to thank the company just for considering your request. This gets mailed to corporate headquarters. You will find the address on the Corporations website. So if you search for Bass Pro their website will show. Usually up in the company’s header is the Community Service address.
