Tips for using the Yum Doozee?

I picked up a pack of the 8 inch kind the other day at Bass Pro because I saw my favorite fisherman, Bill Dance, using them. The darn things are so long, how do you know where to put the hook so the fish will bite it? What are some good ways to use them? Like a stop and go retrieve?

I’ve never personally used them but a size 3 or 4 hook should do you fine. I believe a lot of people will use them on jig heads also, that’d be a good bet if fish are holding deep. Just Texas Rig it like you would any size plastic bait. An 8 inch bait can cause problems at times with fish just wanting to hit the end of the bait but more times than not a fish will get the bait far enough in their mouth for you to get a good hookset. If fish do happen to start hitting the end of the bait you can cut it to make it a bit shorter. I’ve done that many times with baits like the Doozees.
